Questions Families Often Ask

We know that navigating senior living options can bring up a lot of questions. Here are answers to the ones families ask us most often.

Never. Our services are free for families — we are compensated by the communities.

Yes. We schedule all tours and attend with you whenever possible, so you never feel alone. We’ll narrow down the best options together to avoid overwhelm. In rare cases where we can’t join in person, we will still guide the entire process.

Absolutely. While we’re local to Cape Coral and Fort Myers, we can assist families with transitions to senior living communities nationwide.

With years of experience, we learn about your loved one’s needs, preferences, and budget to carefully match them with the right community. We focus on fit and quality of life, not just availability.

We treat you like family, walking alongside you with warmth and compassion, not just information. We’re independent, so we recommend what’s best for you, not just one community.

General FAQs

We assist with independent living, assisted living, memory care, and in some cases, continuing care retirement communities. Our goal is to find the right fit for your loved one’s needs, preferences, and budget.

Every family’s timeline is unique. Some need immediate placement, while others may be planning ahead for several months. We can move quickly when needed, but we’ll always move at your pace.

This is very common, and we can help guide you with strategies and compassionate approaches. We also have conversation starter resources and can coach you through when (and when not) to bring up the subject.

We remain by your side. If adjustments are needed, we’ll support you in making a transition and ensure the next community is a better fit. You won’t be left to navigate this alone.

We are independent, which means we are not tied to one community or chain. We partner with a wide range of trusted senior living providers so that your options are based on what’s best for your loved one.

Yes. Many families are helping parents or loved ones from another state. We can communicate with you remotely, arrange tours, and even provide video calls to keep you involved every step of the way.

While we do not provide financial advice, we can connect you with trusted financial advisors, veterans’ benefit specialists, and elder law attorneys who can guide you through the financial aspects of senior care.

We base our recommendations on years of experience, personal knowledge of the communities, and most importantly, your loved one’s needs. We look at safety, staff-to-resident ratios, lifestyle, activities, reputation, and quality of care.

When you contact communities directly, they will naturally highlight only their own services. With us, you get an advocate who compares multiple options, handles scheduling, joins you on tours, and provides honest, personalized insight at no cost to you.

Memory Care / Alzheimer’s-Specific FAQs

If your loved one is experiencing memory loss, confusion, wandering, or safety concerns that go beyond what assisted living can provide, memory care may be the right option. We’ll help you evaluate their needs and recommend the safest and most supportive environment.

Yes. Memory care communities have secure environments, specialized staff training, structured routines, and programs designed for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Each state sets guidelines, and we’ll help you understand what’s required in Florida (and beyond if you’re considering another state).

We look at staff-to-resident ratios, caregiver training, engagement programs, safety measures, and the overall culture of the community. We also listen to families who’ve had direct experience there.

This is very common. We can provide coaching on how to approach the conversation, and in some cases, recommend not bringing it up repeatedly if it causes distress. Families with power of attorney sometimes need to step in and make decisions in their loved one’s best interest, and we’ll be there to support you through that.

Financial & Planning FAQs

Costs vary widely depending on the type of care, location, and amenities. We’ll help you compare options and connect you with resources to understand financial planning for senior care.

While we don’t file claims, we connect veterans and their families with trusted professionals who specialize in VA benefits, including Aid & Attendance, which can help cover the cost of care.

Yes. We often connect families with elder law attorneys who can help with Medicaid planning, estate planning, and guardianship.

Long-Distance / Out-of-State Family Support FAQs

Absolutely. We often work with families who live far away. We can coordinate everything remotely, provide updates, and keep you involved through phone calls, video calls, and email.

We’ll attend tours with your loved one and share detailed updates with you, including photos, videos, or live video conferencing so you can participate virtually.

We can help you explore options near your location, not just where your loved one currently lives. Our network allows us to support families nationwide.
